One of my favorite aspects of my job is image manipulation. I love fooling the viewer's eyes, making them see what I want them to see. Despite its tedious (and sometimes time-intensive) nature, photo retouching remains one of the most rewarding skills I've developed. And I learned the skills and performed this work "old-school", before the advent of AI.
